Some people dream about scoring the winning goal in game seven to win the Stanley Cup. Me? I dreamed of calling it as someone else scored that goal.

I started getting interested in sport at age six or seven, and quickly found my place as the play-by-play man. Never a great athlete, I played sports video games with friends growing up, and back then, games were not very sophisticated. There were no voices or announcers in them, so I would provide my own commentary. From ice hockey to football to wrestling... I trained as a broadcaster early.

I even recall a visit to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto in my teens. My favourite exhibit was the one that let you sit in a dark booth, choose from one of six classic NHL moments, and call the action as it played out before you on a small monitor. I always felt at home with a microphone.

After graduating from the Radio and Television Arts Program of the Nova Scotia Community College in 2003, I began my radio career. I've worked for almost a decade as a news reporter and presenter, plus spent several years writing commercial copy.

Starting in the 2008/2009 season, I began providing live commentary for Maritime Junior A Hockey League games, first with the Pictou County Weeks Crushers, and currently with the Valley Wildcats. Even when calling a blow out, one-sided game, hockey is still the best part of what I do, as I get to live out that dream I had when I was just seven years old.

To date, I've worked with teams in the Maritime Hockey League and Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League, as well as special events for the MHL, Hockey Canada, and the International Ice Hockey Federation. I've also done in house announcing for Acadia University for their Men's and Women's Basketball teams, and Volleyball. I speak English fluently, as well as basic French, Swiss German and Hungarian. And despite my love of hockey... I'm a terrible skater. The broadcast position really is my home.
